  • Results of RMMLA Executive Board elections announced.

  • RMMLA membership runs from January 1 through December 31. A two-week grace period is given from January 1 - 15, allowing members from the past year to log in to the site and retrieve their existing membership record. After January 15, renewing members will need to enter their contact information anew. Click for Membership Info.

  • Deadline for RMMLA Secretariat receipt of proposals for Grants and Awards:
    • RMMLA - Huntington Library Research Grant ($2000)
    • Faculty and Graduate/ABD Student Research Travel Grants ($250 each)

  • Paper proposals (350 words) for RMMLA convention in October due to session chairs. See Call for Papers for up-to-date list of sessions.
  • Proposals for pre-arranged Special Topic Sessions due to RMMLA Secretariat, including title and brief description of session, as well as list of participants, their institutional affiliations and email addresses, paper titles, and 100-word abstracts of papers. Approved on space available basis.
  • Announcement of recipients of Research Travel, Farr, Davis, and Huntington Awards.

  • Session chairs to notify RMMLA Secretariat of sessions with no or low submissions.
  • Session chairs to send acceptance or rejection letters to all those who submitted paper proposals.
  • Chairs must remind presenters that they need to be current members of RMMLA by April 1 for inclusion in the program and to receive the April mailing of the journal and the newsletter.

  • Deadline for all convention participants (chairs and presenters) to join RMMLA or renew one's membership. Click for Membership Info. Chairs and presenters must be current in dues for session Chairs to be able to enter their paper information into the program. RMMLA membership is for the calendar year.
  • Deadline for members to renew membership in order to receive the print version of the spring issue of the The Rocky Mountain Review and the newsletter (additional fee required for print mailings).
  • Deadline for RMMLA Secretariat receipt of items to be included in the spring RMMLA newsletter.

  • Spring issue of Rocky Mountain Review, the newsletter, and convention information/registration forms available to members who were current in dues by April 1. All forms are downloadable under Conventions page.

  • Deadline for Chairs to submit program copy for their sessions using the Program Information Form on the RMMLA Web site (under "Conventions"). If presenters have not renewed dues for the current year, Chairs will not be able to enter their information into the program. In such cases, it is the responsibility of the Chair to contact these presenters and advise them (a) to contact the RMMLA Secretariat with payment and (b) to inform the Chair when payment is made, so that the Chair can then add the program information on that presenter into the online form.
  • Deadline for submission of requests for audio-visual/computer equipment at convention. Requests may be made by Chairs OR individual presenters from the Program Information Form on the RMMLA Web site (under "Conventions") OR by email at rmmla@wsu.edu.
  • Deadline for submission of session scheduling requests (email rmmla@wsu.edu).

  • Preliminary RMMLA convention program (including date, time and location of sessions) available on the RMMLA web site, along with information on hotel, airline, and car rental reservations.
    NB: Sessions are generally scheduled from Thursday morning until 1:30 pm on Saturday afternoon; optional excursion(s) follow sessions.

  • Annual RMMLA Convention:
    • 2008: October 9-11 in RENO, Nevada
    • 2009: October 8-10 in SNOWBIRD, Utah
  • Cut-off date for guaranteed room reservations and convention rates at the convention hotel:
  • End of pre-registration period for RMMLA Convention (postmark date). Payment by this date includes: admission to regular and special topic sessions, one copy of convention program, and one ticket to the banquet luncheon/keynote speech.
    No banquet tickets will be available for sale after this date OR on site.
    • September 15 in 2008 in Reno, NV
    • September 15 in 2009 in Snowbird, UT

  • Deadline for submission of session chair's report indicating names and contact information for new Chair and Alternate Chair for following year's convention. (This information is crucial for us to be avle to put together the Call for Papers that needs to be mailied by mid-November, so please submit promptly.)
  • Deadline for next year's dues payment for all those who are scheduled to chair a session at the following year's convention. If dues are not paid by this date, a replacement session chair will be sought.
  • Deadline for payment of dues to receive mid-November mailing of Call for Papers, as well as the winter issue of newsletter and the Rocky Mountain Review (additional fee required for print mailings).
  • Nominations of candidates for RMMLA Executive Board Elections due to RMMLA Secretariat.
  • Items to be included in the winter RMMLA newsletter and Call for Papers to be received by RMMLA Secretariat.
  • Requests for Special Topics Sessions to be listed in the Call for Papers for the convention in Coeur d'Alene to RMMLA Secretariat.
  • Deadline for nomination by chairs of graduate student presentations for the Charles Davis Award.
