Membership in RMMLA

All persons affiliated with departments of languages, literatures, cultures, film studies, and other related fields, in public and private educational institutions, as well as retired or independent scholars with similar interests, are welcome to join the Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association. Members are encouraged to contribute to the "RMMLA Grants and Awards Fund" when submitting dues payment.
RMMLA dues are not refundable.

Please note: Current members of RMMLA have access to an online "Membership Directory" which contains the contact information that you provided on your membership form. You may opt out of this directory by choosing the "Hidden Directory Listing" option.

IF, however, you are the chair of a session at the RMMLA convention, we will include the contact information that you have given us in our print and online Call for Papers. Therefore, please only give us the contact information that you are willing to have listed in our CFP.

How to Join RMMLA OR Renew your Membership:

STEP ONE: Confirm, update or complete a Membership Form available at the bottom of this page (please read instructions below first).
  • Renewals: RMMLA membership runs from January 1 through December 31. A two-week grace period is given from January 1 - 15, allowing members from the past year to log in to the site and retrieve their existing membership record.

    • If you are renewing BEFORE January 15, you will:
      (1) click on the Membership Form link at the bottom of this page;
      (2) log in as a member and retrieve your existing membership record;
      (3) confirm or update the contact information that we have on file for you;
      (4) choose your method of payment - send a check by mail OR pay with VISA/MC by online/mail/phone/fax (see STEP TWO below).

    • If you are renewing AFTER January 15, you will:
      (1) click on the Membership Form link at the bottom of this page;
      (2) fill in the blank form with your contact information;
      (3) choose your method of payment - send a check by mail or pay with VISA/MC by online/mail/phone/fax (see STEP TWO below).
      OR
      Call us at 509-335-4198 (MWF 9am-1pm PST) to pay by VISA/MC (we retrieve and update your existing record).

  • New Members: Click on the Membership Form link at the bottom of this page, complete the form online and then choose your payment method (see STEP TWO below).

  • Check
    If you want to pay by check, you will print out the completed/verified Membership Form and mail it to us with your check (in US$, made out to 'RMMLA') to:

  • If you want to pay online using our secure online payment service, just choose this option and complete the VISA/MC payment form. You will receive email confirmation of the transaction. Please note that it can take 1-2 business days for the transaction to be processed and your membership record created or updated.

    If you prefer to pay with VISA or MC, but NOT pay online, you can still print the completed Membership Form, then fax it (509-335-3708) or mail it to us (address above). You may also call the Secretariat (509-335-4198, MWF 9am-1pm PST) with your credit card information.
