PLEASE NOTE: The Rocky Mountain Review, the journal of the Rocky Mountain Modern Language Association, has begun a search for three new members to join its Editorial Board:
  • Editorial Board Member for Latin American Studies
  • Editorial Board Member for British Studies, Pre-1800
  • Editorial Board Member for American and All English Non-UK, Post-1865
The RMR is a double-blind, externally-refereed generalist journal, with a high selectivity rate (approx. 20%). We seek energetic, well-networked individuals with a record of productive scholarship to fulfill these positions. Editorial Board Members receive manuscripts which have passed the in-house review stage, approach and choose two appropriate external readers for each article, and act as final referee for split-decision verdicts; they may also conduct the in-house review or even serve as readers in some instances. Editorial Board Members field manuscripts and reviews in both print and scanned formats (depending on circumstance and level of review), manage documents in Word (with its editing features) and Adobe, utilize scanners and/or copiers, and are in regular email contact with the journal editor and readers. In addition, Editorial Board Members meet once a year at RMMLA's annual conference; while attendance at this meeting is not strictly required, it is encouraged as it provides the opportunity to influence the development of RMR.

Current membership in RMMLA is a requirement to be considered for these positions; previous editorial experience is favorable and should be highlighted.

Interested candidates should send their CV and a cover letter to journal editor Cassandra Gulam at casgulam@wsu.edu, no later than Friday, May 11th.

Editorial Board members serve a three-year term, renewable for additional three-year terms. Requests for renewal are reviewed by the RMMLA Editors, the Executive Director and members of the Executive Board based on criteria set out in the document 'Description of Responsibilities of Editorial Board Members' that is given to each Editorial Board member at the time of initial appointment to the board. For more information, please contact Cassandra Gulam, Editor, at casgulam@vancouver.wsu.edu.
