Welcome to the Rocky Mountain E-Review Preview!
Recent manic spates of e-energies have placed
us on the verge of seeing the RMMLA web site operating as Joan
had envisioned it, unless she has been too polite to tell us otherwise.
Further information on the web site and membership access appears
in the current Newsletter.
The Rocky Mountain E-Review has also
been taking shape, obviously. At present, this electronic journal
closely resembles the print journal, with the following exceptions:
the additional availability of Francisco Manzo Robledo's article
on the Zorrilla play Don Juan Tenorio; María Angélica
Hernández's original Spanish version of her media review;
and the convenience of having within the media reviews the hyperlinks
to those very web sites being discussed. Soon, however, the RME-Review,
in addition to serving up articles appearing in the print version,
will carry other pieces. The editors encourage submissions to
the RME-Review of articles and reviews in any language
and, in particular, articles which incorporate multimedia (graphics,
audio, video, etc.).
Articles which have successfully gone through
the review and editorial process will be posted to the RME-Review
immediately, rather than on a pre-set publication schedule. The
author of a work written in English and accepted for publication
may choose to have that work appear in either the print or the
electronic version of the journal, or both, understanding the
limited (semi-annual) publication schedule of the print version.
All contributions to the RME-Review will be listed in
the table of contents of the print version of the journal following
their web publication. Each item in the table of contents will
include the author's name, the title of the piece, and a brief
abstract of the piece. Contributors to the RME-Review
will receive ten off-prints of this table of contents, along with
a letter from the editors at RMMLA explaining that the RME-Review
is a scholarly refereed journal and that articles appearing in
it undergo the identical editorial review process as pieces published
in the print version. This will also be made clear in a statement
appearing on the opening screen of the RME-Review and throughout
the e-journal. These measures are intended to reassure hiring
committees, tenure and promotion review boards, and any other
professional overlords, of our strict editorial policies and practices.
