Calling All Bloggers: Engaging Student Writers with Technology

Although the jury is still out on the most expedient use of technology in the writing classroom, my evolving qualitative research on student participation in a computer-mediated environment provides data that offers support for bridging Instructional Technology and Composition. Evidence for the use of multi-media to extend and enrich our pedagogical practices is provided by participant-observation and interview (individaul and focus group) methodologies employed as part of a two-semester class project. This presentation will explain work-in-progress findings that support the judicious use of technology in the classroom.
