Left Behind: Technology Practices in Developmental Writing Courses
Many of my colleagues quickly express despair and dread when they hear the words "developmental writing." I've heard descriptions like "hopeless idiots" and "babysitting for retards" from accomplished faculty. Administration is often harsh, stating that since technology is not in the course description, access to the computer classroom is denied. This presentation discusses technology access for developmental students and includes suggestions for creating technology opportunities when they may not seem readily apparent.
